Hand-Knotted Northwest Persian Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Northwest Persian wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, ivory, indigo, salmon, azure, ochre, and sepia. The madder red hued field begins with five star shaped medallions, and features florettes, serrated leaves, and ivory grounded spandrels infilled with rectilinear motifs. Framing the field is a blossom and bar patterned main border, along with Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
