Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian wool carpet runner. The rug has been woven in an abrash palette which includes taupe, salmon, navy, ivory, rose, indigo, amber, brown, gray, and pomegranate. The design features seven pole medallions with stepped borders worked in different color combinations. Diamond devices infilled with checked patterning are positioned in the interstices. The complex compound border includes bands featuring a two-petal calyx meander and a split pattern, flanked by arrow head chains and Laleh Abbasi . The selvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
