A circa 1960s Chinese cut shell composition labeled ‘Swatow Shell Cutting Pictures’ to the verso. The piece depicts a still life scene with yellow flowers, a planter with a small flowering shrub, a stag figurine and a basket of freshly harvested fruit, rendered in colorful cut shell pieces against a variegated blue and white background. The piece includes a block of black calligraphy and two red seals to the upper left. It is matted in blue and presented under glass in a black wooden frame with a pair of ornamental silver tone metal hanging tabs affixed to the top.

- minor markings and discoloration; small nicks and scratches throughout frame.
