An oil painting on masonite of a performing string trio. This image depicts two cellists sitting on either side of a lead violinist. All three musicians are dressed in black tuxedos and set against a black background. The painted surface exhibits a marbleized texture of opaque and translucent black. The work is signed illegibly in the lower right corner, and a sticker on the back reads ‘Kitty May 1985’. It is presented in a gold tone frame with a beige liner. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- some scratches and abrasions to painting; marks to linen liner at upper right; discoloration to finish of frame throughout; scratches and abrasions throughout frame.
