Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Karaja area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of rose, cerulean, coral, ecru, red, forest green, fawn, and black. It has three medallions in alternating cruciform and square shapes, each with geometric floral designs. The field is densely patterned with triangular branches of leaves and lobbed flowers. It is framed with a carnation meander border flanked by leaf and calyx triangular flowers. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, finishing with ivory warp fringe to either end. Unlabeled.
