A hand-knotted Persian Karaja carpet runner. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrash palette of ruby, ivory, azure, rose and moss. It begins with a vertical row of hooked and cruciform medallions over a ruby field. Populating the field are geometric fillers, including arrows, pinwheels, rosettes and abstract geometric motifs. The field is framed by a narrow chi-chi border over ivory and a wide main border consisting of tree of life forms and setpped floral motifs grounded in black. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
