Hand-Knotted Wool Persian Village Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian village wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a bold palette of crimson, ivory, saffron, teal, slate, rose, clementine, navy, olive, and ochre. The crimson colored field begins with three lobed medallions with radiating lancette leaves, and infilled with floral motifs. The field also features flowering branches, palmettes, along with other floral and foliate motifs. Framing the field is a main leaf and blossom meander border, and a pair of sawtooth guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
