Hand-Knotted Kurdish Quchan Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Kurdish Quchan carpet runner. This tribal rug offers three pole medallions with serrated edges and an attached pendant at each end resting on a lozenge featuring diagonal stripes. The surrounding field includes pinwheels, arrow fletchings and diamond motifs worked in a palette of indigo, rose, taupe, merigold, teal and watermelon. Framing the field are solid narrow borders with a primary border filled with rectilinear tribal elements over ivory flanked by a laleh abbasi outer border. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with short ivory warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
