Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian wool area rug. The rug has been woven using wool in shades of cocoa, robin’s egg blue, espresso, midnight, salmon, indigo, blush, sage, and ivory. A large lobed pendant medallion is surrounded by vines with stylized lilies, palmettes, and hanging branches. The spandrels have palmette and scrolling leaves set against a deep blue background and the blush bands flank the split leaf and flower guard borders and the major border infilled with herati and stylized trees. The selvedges are overcast and there is long fine wool fringe at each end.
