Hand-Knotted Caucasian Tribal Mini-Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian tribal mini-rug. This wool rug features a hexagonal medallion grounded in cream. Enclosed in the medallion is a smaller medallion featuring a complex palmette design incorporating pendants, boteh and stylized foliate elements in tangerine and garnet with black edging and highlights in cerulean and ochre. The medallions rest on a garnet field enclosed by two borders, including a carnation meander pattern. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short goat hair warp fringe. Unlabeled.
