Hand-Knotted Caucasian Mini-Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian mini-rug. This nearly square wool rug is rendered in a palette of ruby, sapphire, apricot, emerald, burgundy and cream. It begins with a large medallion with phases in several colors, the medallion resting on an abrashed, ruby field. Populating the field are diamonds and pinwheels. Borders include a geometric meander pattern over burgundy and sawtooth patterns. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with goat hair warp fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
