Hand-Knotted Shirvan Kazak Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Shirvan Kazak carpet runner. This wool rug begins with three lattice filled diamond motifs flanked by large tree forms with diamond florets, stylized barber pole motifs and flower heads. The rug is worked in a palette of ocean blue, navy blue, cream, green, ivory, rose and watermelon. Framing the field are sawtooth, barber pole and chi-chi guard borders with a main border having rectilinear filled cartouche pendants. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with with short warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
