Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Mural Panels

A group of two Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center mural panels. The group features an abstract laminate design on wood panels. The panels were originally part of a Cincinnati Children’s Hospital wall mural. One panel is flat with the other being a dimensional shelf with frosted plexiglass for a possible light source, with the panels having matched designs.

In 1993, location B of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center opened with art designed by Eva Maddox. Ms. Maddox was based in Chicago but was a graduate of DAAP at the University of Cincinnati. The theme of the art was environments and each floor had a level that pertained – the seas, the plains, the mountains. There was an extensive, vibrant mural on B-1 that introduced the theme. These panels are from the introduction mural.
