Vintage Swedish M96 Bayonet in Scabbard
Item Details
An antique Swedish M96 sword bayonet in scabbard. This single-edged bayonet entered production in 1896 for the Swedish M96 Mauser rifle, and was produced by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori (“Rifle Factory of Carl Gustaf’s town”) beginning in 1913. This bayonet has a ridged metal grip, an angled mounting lug to the pommel, and a single-edged fullered blade, marked at the ricasso with the manufacturers’ crown logo, along with the serial number 707 within its run of 1,000, indicating that it was created between 1913 and 1933. Also included is a steel scabbard with a mark indicating the bayonet was assigned to rifle number 1 of the 9th Company, 25th Regiment of the Swedish military.
