A French Regency style, secretary with a caned chair. The secretary features a shaped cornice with a carved floral basket applique above two cabinet doors with metal mesh fronts and knobs opening to two wood shelves. Three aligned drawers back a sliding beveled desktop above a width-wide drawer having a recessed panel and bail handles. The desk rises up on square, tapered legs. The chair matches in color and gold trim and features a balloon, caned back above a caned seat rising on stop-fluted tapered legs joined by corner squares with carved flower heads and a serpentine-shaped apron. There are no visible maker’s marks.
