An antique two-gallon stoneware jug with cobalt stenciling by Hamilton & Jones, circa second half of the 19th century. The salt-glazed, semi-ovoid jug features a raised spout above an applied, rear handle. The front is stenciled with cobalt leaves surrounding a maker’s label for ‘Hamilton & / Jones. / Greensboro / PA. / 2’.

- to fair; scattered, tiny spatters of white paint with a drip on left side; a few minor losses to cobalt stenciling, mostly in the word “Greensboro”; other minor glaze and firing imperfections, mostly along foot, with a small, light crack above handle.
