Wishropp Oil Painting of Boats Near an Aqueduct
Item Details
A framed oil painting by C. A. Wishropp. This maritime scene depicts three small sail boats in the foreground of a broad lake. Several other boats are anchored in the distance, near an imposing arched aqueduct. The work is signed in the lower left ‘Wishropp’, and signed and dated on the back in ink ‘Mrs. C.A. Wishropp, 1937’. Below the back signature is a label reading ‘University of Missouri, Kansas City, MO 1937’. The painting is presented under glass with layered green and white French mat in a gilded white frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
