Vintage Yoruba Beaded Diviners Bag
Item Details
A vintage Yoruba beaded diviners beaded bag. The finely beaded bag was used to carry divination objects and worn in public ceremonies by Ifa priestesses. The beaded front lifts to reveal a pouch. The bag has raised lizard, snake, and face designs in brown, red, green, blue, black, and white. Typically found in Southwestern Nigeria and adjoining parts of Benin and Togo, often referred to as Yorubaland.

- wear from age and use; discoloration; would benefit from cleaning.
