A woodcut print titled Lute Player by well-listed Modern artist Irving Amen (1918-2011). This relief print features a colorful image of a figure playing a string instrument with a serene facial expression. This work is signed to the lower right margin and titled ‘Lute Player’ to the lower left next to the edition number of ‘19/25’. This piece is presented in a wooden frame, under glass, and with a wire hanger to the verso.

Irving Amen studied art at the Pratt Institute and later in Paris. Known for his paintings, woodblock printing, stained glass and sculpture, he is listed in the Dictionary of Contemporary American Artists by Cummings and was elected as a member of the Academia Florentina della Arti Del Disegno which also included Michelangelo as a member. His work can be found in The Museum of Modern Art, NY, The Metropolitan Museum, NY, Boston Museum of Fine Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Cincinnati Art Museum, The Smithsonian, Washington DC as well as museums in London, Jerusalem, Brussels, Germany, Austria, New Zealand and Canada.
