An offset lithograph after an original illustration for Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party by English illustration Sir John Tenniel (1820 – 1914). This illustration depicts the character Alice having tea with the Mad Hatter, Dormouse, and March Hare. This version of the illustration, originally published in 1890, first appeared in the The Nursery Alice, a shortened version for children up to age five that includes the original illustrations enlarged and colored. This piece is signed in plate to the lower left. It is presented beneath glass and in a stained wood frame.
