Hand-Knotted Pakistani Bokhara Jaldar Area Rug

A Pakistani Bokhara Jaldar area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of apricot, pale mauve, black, cream and ivory. It begins with a lattice of hooked diamond medallions over a small apricot-colored field. The field is framed by fourteen wraparound borders featuring a variety of geometric patterns over mauve. Two narrow horizontal elem panels, one above the field, the other below, each feature a diamond-lattice pattern. The outer guard border is mauve. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
