A hand-knotted Turkish Ghiordes Prayer Rug. This rug is presented with a traditional angular mehrab and highly stylized vine filled spandrels. Within the arch are candlestick pillars along with a tree form boasting a floral dispaly. It is worked in a palette of plum, ocean, ivory, salmon and sand over a bronze-tone field. To the top of the mehrab is a panel of arch framed tree forms with a signature to the center boxed in ivory. A main border with split leaves and blossoming flowers over a very pale blue ground and minor borders filled with floral meanders are grounded in ivory and salmon. Selvedges are overcast, finishing the rug are knotted tassel ivory fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
