Antique Sterling Silver Chatelaine for Scissors

An antique sterling silver chatelaine in a repousse floral pattern, designed to be worn at the waist by the lady of the house. The long narrow open case would have kept a pair of sewing scissors handy and chatelaines were often given as presents to a new bride. The case has a monogram in fancy script at the center, a decorative clip, short chain and a red velvet lining. It is stamped ‘Sterling Silver’ and the total weight is approximately 2.975 ozt.
