A power-loomed Karastan English Manor William Morris area rug. The rug has been made using wool in abrash shades of pomegranate, robin’s egg blue, olive, navy, cinnamon, honey, sand, taupe, and fawn. The design features a repeating pattern with herati and vine motifs on the pomegranate field. The guard borders inlcude arches, circles, and diamond devices. The primary border offers flowers and scrolling leaves. The rug is finished with serged edges and an applied fringe at either end. It has a tag marked “Karastan” and “Woven in the USA of worsted New Zealand wool pile” attached to the reverse.
