Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of carnelian, deep plum, buff, taupe, ochre, cerulean, tangerine, and sky blue. The carnelian red colored field begins with a lobed diamond pendant medallion with coordinating spandrels grounded in deep plum. The field also features ornate floral sprays, leafy vines, and bouquets throughout. Framing the floral themed field is a main border of flower filled urns, and palmettes, as well as a pair of chained florette guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a sand colored cotton warp fringe to the ends. The underside is labeled.
