Item Details
An antique American rushlight holder featuring a barley twist style to the metal holder and body and a round black painted wooden plinth. Rushlights were traditionally an artificial light source for the underprivileged people of Great Britain and the tradition of soaking the pith of a rush plant in fat to create a flammable material followed the emigrants from to America.

- worm holes to wood noted; some oxidation.
