Pair of Swedish Chip-Carved Monk Chairs

Item Details

A pair of Swedish, chip-carved oak Monk chairs. Each chair features a straight crest rail with incised carvings and brackets held on a central pole with angled, incised arms leading to turned front turned legs. The triangular seats have raised sides and tie on cushions. There are triangular stretchers on each. Late 19th century.

Condition

- surface scratches, nicks and wear to the finish; one has split in wood at one leg.
