Fernando Bandula Batik Cloth Panels

A pair of batik textile panels by artist Fernando Bandula (20th Century). These pieces, created by dyeing fabric using a wax resist, depicts women carrying baskets of fish on their heads and lobsters in their hands. Each is nearly identical but facing in opposite directions, with differences in the cracked pattern and from the hand-made drawing process. Both are signed to the lower right and presented in gold tone wood frames with hanging hardware to the versos.

- scuff marks to fabric; loosely attached to stretcher; surface wear to edges and corners of frame.
