A Swedish fruitwood secretaire à abbatant. The upright chest features a molded top with chamfered edges including carved, fluted and scrolled mounts on the stiles. Each of four dove-tail joinery drawers includes raised trim and wooden keyhole escutcheons. A central fall-front writing surface reveals fifteen small drawers and one cabinet door with bone pulls. The case stands on bun feet. Circa 1850-60.

Condition

- cracks and chips to veneers; one escutcheon trim piece missing; surface scratches, marks and nicks consistent with age and use.
