A vintage hand-knotted Persian Gabbeh wool area rug. This rug offers a plush pile, and is rendered in a variegated and abrashed palette of terracotta, sky blue, pale yellow, black, and camel. The field features a geometric design beginning with a central square framed in a large terracotta colored diamond shape with alternating colors of sky blue and pale yellow to each corner. The field also features sparsely placed animal motifs, and framed in a black and pale yellow checkered border. Finishing this rug are striped overcast selvedges and an ivory cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
