A pairing of two pairs of sterling silver earrings and a ring including Bill Schiffer. The openwork ring features a laid brick design and is signed Schiffer. Also signed with the name Schiffer is a pair of post back earrings that have bezel set turquoise and dyed green chalcedony. There is also a pair of french hook earrings with repeating danging motifs set with garnet. Each piece is tested or hallmarked as sterling silver and the total weight inclusive of all materials is 0.445 ozt.
Born in New York, Bill Schiffer rose to prominence as a painter and sculptor in the early 1980s. Though he still works in many two dimensional and three dimensional art mediums, Schiffer is most well known for his unique handcrafted jewelry, which he started designing after a foray experimenting with wearable art in the fashion scene. Bill Schiffer’s art and jewelry has been shown in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, as well as major museums in Italy, Japan, Germany and the United States. His work has been featured in publications including Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan.
