Antique Union Case Clam Shell Frame and Tin Type

Item Details

An antique union case clam shell frame opening to reveal a tin type portrait of a seated woman in a gold foil embossed frame. The exterior covers of the frame illustrate a winged cherub holding a stag by the horns encircled by arabesque foliates and griffins. The interior has an embossed maroon velvet lining at the left and the gold oval frame surrounding the photo has shields at the corners.

Condition

- overall the condition is good, the tintype is in good condition as is the lining however the frame has chips at several corners
