A hand-knotted Persian Arak accent rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, azure, midnight blue, sapphire and ivory. It begins with an elongated medallion over a cranberry field, which is populated with sprays of flowers and edged with a contoured, inner frame in sapphire. Enclosing the field is a wide main border grounded in azure, featuring meandering split leaves and palmettes. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
