Antique Gerold-Porzellan Porcelain Puzzle Stein with Nude Woman Lithopane

An antique Bavarian porcelain puzzle stein by Gerold-Porzellan featuring clipper ships on the water and a deep green faux bois handle and rim. The puzzle refers to the fact that the rim of the stein is perforated with holes which would seemingly make drinking from the vessel rather difficult. Actually, the liquid flows through the handle and can be sipped from the top rim with less obvious holes if indeed the drinker covers the correct hole with a thumb. When the stein is empty, the lithopane of a nude woman is seen by holding the stein up to the light. Ink stamped appropriately to the bottom.
