A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai square rug. This wool accent rug begins with a mirror medallion containing plinth based animal figures resting on stylized pedestals over a ruby red ground. The remaining field features geometric florets, S filler motifs and bird forms in a color palette of merigold, pink, honey, azure, ivory and indigo. Framing the rug is a main carnation meander border in the field colors grounded in ivory. Slevedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short warp fringe at either end. This rug has an unrelated tags to underside.
