Hand-Knotted Persian Qashqai Square Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Qashqai square rug. This accent rug begins with a large layered diamond medallion to the center field grounded in hues of teal. The medallion edges are laced with stemmed flowers while the surrounding deep red field contains bird forms, tree forms, boteh arrangements and rondels. These elements are worked in a palette of burnt orange, navy, bright pink, black and ivory. Framing the rug is a stepped geometric pattern in ivory, flanked by solid black and teal borders. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short warp ivory fringe at each end. This rug has an unrelated tags to underside.
