This cathedral geode displays a thin zone of blue banded cryptocrystalline quartz that grades in to coarse crystalline quartz with medium to dark purple sub-euhedral to euhedral crystals of amethyst with have the hexagonal prism with six sided pyramidal termination habit typical to the mineral quartz and minor limonite inclusions.
