Hand-Knotted Kazak Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Kazak carpet runner. This wool rug begins with a vertical row of five polygonal medallions over an abrashed, rose-colored field. Enclosed within and surrounding the medallions are a variety of motifs, including hooked diamonds, kirkbudak guls and pinwheels. The palette is rose, camel, midnight blue/black and ivory. Framing the field are four borders, including stars and geometric florets. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
