Brass
A Tibetan style brass statue of the Green Tārā (Śyāmatārā), the “mother of liberation” and Buddha of enlightened activity. She is seated upon a lotus pedestal in the lalitāsana pose with her right leg pendant and supported by a lotus bloom. Her right hand is held in the varada mudrā, the gesture of generosity and charity, and her left hand is raised the vitarka mudrā, the gesture of discussion. She holds the stems of utpala (blue lotus flowers) and padma (lotus flowers) which are in full bloom at her shoulders. She is dressed in the delicate ornaments, clothing, and five-leaf crown of a bodhisattva.
