A pochoir titled The Duet by listed artist Umberto Brunelleschi (1879-1949). This piece depicts a courting couple performing a song together, a stringed instrument in the woman’s hands and both with their mouths open in song. There is a line of text printed to the upper edge reading ‘Publié par l’Estampe Moderne, 14, rue de Richelie, Paris – 1926’ and ‘Copyright 1926 Ste. Ame. l’Estampe Moderne Paris’ with a banner bearing the artist’s surname to the lower right. The artist’s signature is also present to the lower right of the print, which is matted under acrylic glass in a wooden frame with rings to its verso to facilitate hanging.
Condition
- discoloration to paper; foxing marks throughout; tear to print at lower center; minor nicks and wear to frame; debris and accretions under acrylic glass.
