A hand-set letterpress print on paper after a poster titled A Moral and Physical Thermometer by American founding father Benjamin Rush (1746-1813). This poster depicts a thermometer labeled with various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and their effects on the mind and body, with warnings against the stronger liquors. It was set and printed in Williamsburg, Virginia, as noted to the lower center. The work is presented behind glass in a wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
