E.L. Byers Oil Painting "Spring in the Smoky Mountains"
Item Details
An oil painting on board titled Spring in the Smoky Mountains by E.L. Byers. This landscape painting depicts a rustic log cabin near a rushing stream in a mountain valley. Smoke emerges from the chimney, and the surrounding brown, tree covered hills show the slightest hints of the green and pink buds of spring. The work is signed in the lower right ‘E.L. Byers’, and titled in graphite on the back. It is presented in a gilded wood frame with a wide flat panel. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- toning on painting; foxing at upper left corner on painting; cracks in paint on inner edges of frame; wear to edges of frame.
