A watercolor painting on paper by listed American artist George W. Haines (19th-century), created in 1871. The Impressionist-inspired piece depicts a figure walking through a rustic European farm landscape scene, with an old stone barn and hay bales set against distant rolling hills and partially overcast skies. The work is signed ‘G.W. Haines 1871’ in paint to the lower left, and additionally signed ‘George W. Haines 1871’ in ink to the verso. It is matted in cream and presented unframed.

- foxing, toning and discoloration to paper and matting; stains to painting at top center; smudges to mat with wear to edges and corners; unframed.
