Mitsuzo Shimizu Oil Painting on Canvas
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by well-listed Japanese American artist Mitsuzo Shimizu (1905 – 1986). This landscape painting depicts a nature scene in a dense tree-filled forest. The painting is signed by hand to the lower left corner and is housed in a silver tone wooden frame with a linen liner. The frame features a metal plaque reading “Shimizu.”
Condition
-Linen inner frame has what looks like spots of foxing; UV light reveals areas of inpainting.
