A hand-knotted Persian Mashhad area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette in palette of coral-red, dove gray, mustard, midnight blue, peach, and ivory. The field is patterned with curvilinear vines,boteh motifs, palmettes, and lancet leaves and it is framed by a main border of multi-colored floral branches. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
