An antique Chinese Qing Dynasty period hand embroidered decorative collar. The collar features four ornate lobes in the shape of ruyi scepters, evoking the ‘as you wish’ sentiment. The cream cotton is embroidered with scholars’ objects and garden vignettes surrounded by florals and bamboo rendered in shades of sage, cerulean, and coral.

Condition

- yellowing of the base fabric is apparent and consistent. the inner hem is frayed and the opening seems to have been cut.
