Item Details
A large hand-knotted Indo-Bakhtiari area rug. This wool rug features a Persian Bakhtiari-inspired garden panel design in a muted palette of cornsilk, celadon, taupe and terracotta. The design consists of panels containing willow, fir and cyprus trees amid floral and vase forms over a cornsilk-colored field. Framing the field are three borders, including a wide, stylized herati main border featuring palmettes and other florals and foliates over cornsilk. Selvedges are overcast; ends finish with ivory wool warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
