Machine-Made Tapestry / Rug

A machine-made tapestry or rug. This piece has a short pile and depicts the scene in a Middle-Eastern town square where people go about their daily activities, ride horses, and lead donkeys under a reddened sky. There is a geometric border around the outside, and the piece is finished with serged edges and an applied fringe of red yarn to either side. There are faded labels to the verso.

- some discoloration throughout; broken and pulled yarns to verso.
