A boys’ circa 1910s antique Japanese handwoven silk ceremonial crested kimono. The kimono is hand decorated in a yuzen resist dyed and sumi e hand-painted design. This elaborate design features two cranes taking off with crashing waves beneath them, and pine trees and a cloud silhouette above. There are five kamon crests present to the back, sleeves and chest. The kimono has sash ties sewn to the front, and the interior is lined in off-white silk.

Condition

- light staining, some basting stitches present, the threads at one side of the black sash are loose.
