A hand-tufted Indo-Persian area rug. This Indian-made wool rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, ivory and camel. It features a classic curvilinear herati pattern incorporating palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines over a cobalt field. The field is framed by four borders, including a herati main border over ivory, meander-pattern minor borders over camel and a cobalt outer guard border. Edges are serged on all sides under a full fabric backing. The rug is labeled ‘Kaleen’ on the reverse.
